2 Longevity of System

Any system consists of a series of interconnected devices in a manner capable of performing particular functions. These functional blocks may consist of a single component or complex subsystems, depending on the type of system and the interconnections on the same.

The state of the components and structure of the system determine whether a computer is working or not. In short, quantify the reliability of a system generally requires the system to consider the structure and the reliability of its components [4, 5].

The reliability engineering is the study of longevity and failure of products, equipment, and systems. To investigate the causes of failing it is applied scientific and mathematical principles. This type of research aims to gain a better understanding of device failure to identify where improvements can be made to the design of products to enhance its life or at least to limit the adverse consequences of failure.
